www.WalkforMomsandMidwives.com
Each individual registrant will receive a T-shirt and a goodie bag ($20). Family registrants will receive up to 4 t-shirts and a goodie bag ($40), with additional T-shirts $5 each. If you can't come to Garner, but would like to participate, you can sign up to have a Sister Walk in your neighborhood and receive your t-shirts in the mail!
We will also be kicking off a Silent Auction at the event--you will be able to see and bid on items at the walk, but bidding will continue until November 9 online.
All proceeds will go to NCFOM to support their legislative efforts to expand midwifery care for NC families. We are very lucky here in the Triangle to have so many birthing options--the state's only Birth Center, two nearby CNMs who attend home births, and a Baby Friendly hospital (UNC)! Families in other parts of our state, particularly rural areas and Northeastern NC have very few options for midwifery care in or out of the hospital. Achieving the goals of NCFOM-- Licensing Certified Professional Midwives and reducing the restrictions placed on Certified Nurse Midwives--will pave the way for the ranks of midwives to grow to serve the whole state.
I hope to see you there!!
